Virtual Vault Outlook 2010 Password
Those darn Add-ins. They always get me.
Had issues loading the Symantec Enterprise Vault client with Outlook 2010 running on XenApp 6.5. Got in touch with our messaging team, and their response was “EV is not supported in a Terminal Server environment”, great, thanks.
After verifying it with Symantec… I had to think outside the box.
The first thing you need to make sure you do is run the option to install the client for all users. You can accomplish this by running the install in command line.
About Virtual Vault If your administrator has enabled it, Outlook displays your vault in the Navigation Pane. This feature of Enterprise Vault is called VirtualVault. A Virtual Vault appears like a mailbox folder or personal folder in the Outlook Navigation Pane. Figure 1-1 shows a mailbox and a Virtual Vault. Figure 1-1 Example of a Virtual Vault. Outlook Archive just removes the data from the Exchange server to the end-user’s computer (or a shared drive) into PST files. The PSTs are then just added to the Outlook profile as a secondary place to search for items. Restart Outlook to automatically display the Virtual Vault Cache wizard again. Repeat the setup procedure and specify a different age limit at step 2. Once the synchronization is redone, the Vault node reappears in your Outlook Folder list. Choose Tools Enterprise Vault Vault Cache Properties for Outlook 2007 and File Enterprise Vault Vault Cache Properties for Outlook 2010; Once the Vault Cache Properties window appears, click on the Virtual Vault tab. This will list any archives that are currently enabled for that user; Uncheck the box next to the archive name for each. Microsoft Outlook Plugin for Alfresco 5.2 from EisenVault Document Management (This allows one-way communication - i.e. Saving of emails and attachments from Outlook to Alfresco. It has been tested with Outlook 2010, 2013 and 2016 on Windows 7, 8.1 and 10.
msiexec.exe /norestart ALLUSERS=2 /m NAMEOFENVIRONMENT /i “Symantec Enterprise Vault10 HTTP-Only Outlook Add-in-en.msi”
Issue:
After installing the client, the add-in would load for all users howerver, would come up with the following error messages
![Virtual Virtual](/uploads/1/1/9/3/119380587/433716021.jpg)
Error 1:
“Your outlook installation is missing a VBScript component that is required by Enterprise Vault.”
Virtual Vault Outlook 2010 64-bit
Error 2:
“Microsoft Outlook cannot provide form scripting support…”
Solution:
1. Copy “OUTLVBS.DLL” from a PC where EV has not been installed, or the Office 2010 media to the directory where outlook.exe lives (Ex: C:Program Files (x86)Microsoft OfficeOffice14). (Will solve error 1)
2. Delete the “OutlookVBScript” string regkey from “[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTInstallerFeatures0004109110000000000000000F01FEC]” (Will solve error 2)
Now if our messaging team will get that native Exchange archive feauture working.
